Amanda Burr likes to begin a painting by sketching with her eyes closed.

She is inspired by  the whimsical illustrations found in children's books and the free lines of Chagall and the warm palettes of Gauguin. Amanda draws things many of us feel or imagine or remember.

Amanda lives in San Diego, California, and is searching for a dog or cat as a willing muse if she ever gets lucky enough to find one.
